Supporting Recovery, Building Community
Door to Serenity is proud to be a part of Alabama Recovery Advocacy Day.
Our mission is to provide safe, supportive, and empowering sober living residences for individuals recovering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
Certified by the Alabama Alliance for Recovery Residences (AARR), our program serves diverse populations, including LGBTQ+, Veterans, Justice-Involved Individuals, Minority Communities, and those utilizing Medication-Assisted Recovery (MAR).
When one door closes, we strive to ensure that ours is always open, offering hope and a pathway to recovery.
Since opening our first home in 2020, Door to Serenity has grown to operate three recovery residences in Mobile, Alabama: two for men and one for women. In 2024, we expanded our services by subletting two-bedroom apartments for individuals further along in their recovery journey, providing a more independent living option while maintaining connection to our recovery community. These residences reflect our commitment to fostering stability, resilience, and long-term recovery.
Our Executive Director, Lisa Teggart, leads with compassion and expertise, bringing years of experience and dedication to this critical work. Under her leadership, Door to Serenity has become a vital resource in Mobile and beyond, offering not just a home but a lifeline to those seeking to rebuild their lives. With her guidance, we’ve built a program rooted in inclusivity, accountability, and community support, ensuring every resident has access to the tools they need to succeed.
Together, we can celebrate progress, advocate for change, and provide opportunities for individuals to thrive.
